In reading the HBR article “How Will You Measure Your Life?” by Clayton M. Christensen – which was well worth my time – I read a sentence that continues to resonate with me.
“Management is the most noble of professions if it’s practiced well. No other occupation offers as many ways to help others learn and grow, take responsibility and be recognized for achievement, and contribute to the success of a team.”
Wonderful thought, to be sure, and it is my hope that those in the real estate industry grasp it’s full measure and what it could mean for them every day.
How much easier would it be to go to work everyday and to do the recruiting, coaching and training required if this kind of thinking permeated our approach?
How much easier could it be to stay focused and do what required of us?
