It might be interesting to learn how many companies are changing how they set their goals for next year.
What if instead of the usual production and profit goals – goals were set to improve how we do our job. The central focus would be the consumer for a change.
For example, set goals to decrease the number of days on the market for listings; to increase the percentage of listings sold; to decrease the percentage of difference between actual sales price and original list price. These are all centered around the consumer and yet still impact production and profit.
This kind of goal setting would also serve to focus our activities for the year – training and coaching would support this direction.
I can see this kind of work involving everyone – no matter their individual objectives – and helping to build a great culture of shared values.
Make sense?
